One of my first days in Buenos Aires I happened to notice way down in the subway tunnels a tile image of the Virgin of Lujan, the patron saint of Argentina, and I thought how odd it was that someone should have thought to put it there. And in the days since then, I have been impressed by the multiple, multiple people who touch her image in reverence.
